The Silver Oak Home for Chronically Ill Children
Nova Dumont has visited nearly every hospital in the country — not that she’s proud of it. Episodes of unending, mysterious pain have torn her body apart, pushing her toward doctor after doctor in search of answers. But when nobody is able to properly diagnose her, Nova receives an invitation to attend the Silver Oak Home for Chronically Ill Children.
When she arrives, she isn’t surprised to see the sterile medical facilities, stuffy professors, and the other sick kids. What she doesn’t expect to find is an entire magical city hidden below ground, a student body made up of shapeshifters and mythical creatures, and friendships unlike any she’s had before.
But everything is turned on its head when Nova’s abilities don’t manifest as quickly as she desires and she’s forced to make a choice between finding a way free of her pain or learning to live with it.
